The Tyranny of Socks

infinitemonkeys is hosting a snaps cup meme in order to increase the amount of happiness in the universe. (But does anyone else find "snaps cup" and odd name? My mind goes almost immediately to Jr. High and snapping bra straps, and that is just not an expression of admiration, really, no matter how you slice it. Where does the name come from?)

Anyway, I have thrown some body part or other into the ring here. But just go to the meme and spread some love around.

This was a long, tiring day which for a number of reasons (some solid, some not so solid) did not leave me feeling very good about myself. Could someone else Mary Sue me? I know Greek and Latin; I also know a guy who's kind of the go-to person for trips to the underworld, although I don't work on that stuff any more. Talk about roads not taken! if only I hadn't changed my research area in grad school, I could totally be in a SPN story!

I see that Multiverse 2007 sign-ups are open. Perhaps I'll manage to sign-up for this; I seem to have missed a whole set of other ficathons I kind of meant to sign up for. But ficathon organizers like people who can pinch-hit and don't expect a story in exchange, right?
