I have been in fandom for a very long time -- since the days people bought zines under the table at Creation Cons, or saved up to go to MediaWest (I have done both of these things). Then I fell out of fandom for a while, and came back in around 2000, which is probably a sign I should be knitting my taxes by now. I'm at my most fannish when I have my One True Character for a fandom (see: Alex Krycek in XF, Julian Sark in Alias, John Winchester in SPN); the outlier for me is ASOIAF, where I don't have a single OTC, and in fact most of the characters I love have fans who hate each other. I've dabbled in a lot of fandoms, as a quick glance at my AO3 works page will demonstrate, and I love writing crossovers.
I'm kind of between fandoms now, and have been since GoT exploded in whatever that was, but I read around a lot, and I watch a lot of TV. Most of my writing is for exchanges now because I have a terminal problem finishing anything I'm just writing for me.
I used to be on Tumblr but haven't been back in ages. On Fallen London I am Ursula Penwiper. I keep thinking I should try Discord but I don't like real-time interaction enough because I always feel like I live in the wrong time zone.
In my day job I have to know a lot about Roman history, and every now and then I post about that, but most of my posts about RL things are access-locked.
