4. I'm starting to feel a little excited about the new Star Wars movie. It was my first fandom, and I'm still occasionally nostalgic for it.

OK, first and foremost, CRAP!!!! I thought this was the season finale. Next week I'll be in the UK. I beg of my friends list, please, could some kind soul send me a DVD or tape of the episode?

As it happens, I will not be here to see next week's episode, and must figure out some other way of getting my hands on that precious footage. On the plus side, I will be lying out the veranda in Mexico, watching the ocean and the pelicans and drinking a margarita, so frankly, I'm not complaining about that.

Due to my pathetic fangirl status, no sooner do I return home than I watch the Alias episode that I missed. And as you might expect, I have a few thoughts about Sak and that thing he said about Lauren. You know, that thing. ( let's head under the cut where I can be specific )

I notice that the television gods are angry with me, because I will be away in Oxford next week. Typical. I'm as happy about the preview as you would expect, of course.

This is a little scattered, still but I've been mulling these points off and on. Spoilers for the S4 opener, although it's more to do with the structure of the story than individual points.

Any help in turning these scattered and poorly thought-out observations into something more coherent would be much appreciated. I have a feeling that many of you have said these things better in other places.

So, is there new Alias tonight? I'm so distracted that I now relay on my flist for TV listings--it's only down to some kind soul mentioning it that I managed to see Veronica Mars last night.

I was reading through some of my episode-review posts from last year while thinking about a fandom/fanfic year in review post (which I won't be doing). I did a fairly good job keeping my optimism and good humor, in retrospect, but Season 3 did wear on me: I'm not as excited about the premiere as I was last year, and I don't feel the same buzz from my flist that I did last year, either.

( that said, I'm not wholly pessimistic )

I may have more to say, but now I need to get back to my day job.
