I usually take two suitcases to the UK for the summer; this isn't unreasonable, since I'm there for two and a half months. This year I'm pretty sure I could fit everything into my duffle, although I probably won't. I'll have to think about it; after all, it's not like we don't have a few small suitcases lying around at home, for short trips during the summer. But then, I do a lot of shopping while I'm there, so I might want the extra space when I come back...

Decision-making is clearly a problem for me today.

No salt, no pumps.

Pack your duffle, and throw in a couple of empty ones. You can fill them up for the return trip. I learned long ago to pack along an empty bag. Takes up no space, and if I don't need it, okay. If I do, got it. Also? Should we be telling you to have fun? Vacation? Summer job?

Another vote for the empty bag club. I have a SportSac type thing that has saved me many times as backup. Since I tend to buy a lot of books, I've been known to pack those in my checked luggage and then carry on my dirty laundry because it is lighter.

Have a great trip!
