I know, I know, real fans watch the US broadcast. I'm just limping along here on the UK schedule.

I knew going in that Finn would be killed (although at the moment I don't know if anyone else is going to die, and I think I'd rather keep it that way, thanks), but not all the details -- anyway, it was all good and effective. But one thing that's very odd coming in without having seen season 1 is that I never knew Finn as a good guy; by the start of S2 he's already pretty trigger-happy, and the descent to war-criminal happens fast. Whereas Murphy, who judging by everyone else's reactions did some very bad stuff in S1, seems no worse than any of the rest of them. I know Raven bears a grudge against Murphy because he shot her, but I don't know the how and why of that -- and so it was interesting, given her history with Finn, that she wanted to hand him over rather than herself. Unless she figures that the Grounders have the same trouble I do telling those dark-haired boys apart.

I really liked that when Abby was questioned about her willingness to hand Finn over, she pointed out that they had already sent him to his death once -- along with the rest of the children. Since they had. Although now presumably resources are less scarce, so there isn't the same need for ruthlessness.

(One thing I kind of like is that, on the one hand, Lexa's demand that the Sky People move on is perfectly reasonable -- they fell into her territory, but that doesn't mean they can stay there -- but at the same time their unwillingness to leave their camp, which is built around their fallen home, is also very reasonable. Maybe one day they will burn their ships, probably literally, and merge with the Grounders, but maybe not. Because I want this show to be the Aeneid, and end with someone founding Lavinium. Which makes Finn Nisus and Euryalus combined, I guess.)

The same night that The 100 airs, we also watched a post-apocalyptic comedy called Cockroaches (somewhat funny but Jack Whitehall is in everything, and I only like him in Fresh Meat) and another show, called 10,000 B.C., which is a reality show where people have to live like it's the Mesolithic (the short version is, they can't). So we got to watch the depressing apocalypse, the funny apocalypse, and the real apocalypse where people can't cope and just die.
