thursday! yay!

Thursday is finally here! Huzzah! And last night I dreamed about the show, as well: some kind of second-season AU where Dean died and John and Sam were left to carry on, which worked just about as well as you'd expect. They were holed up somewhere, waiting for something (my dream was vague on the plot details) and in the meantime I guess John had cooked them something to eat because Sam was yelling at him about the mashed potatoes, how he'd tried to make them the way Dean did and somehow that was an attempt to compete with Dean or dishonor his memory or something.

I was there, too, except that I looked like Tyra from FNL (not like Jess), which I think may be my subconscious pointing out to me that I am just about as likely to turn into a six-foot-tall blonde woman as I am to eat dinner with the Winchesters. Or just that I think I'm taller than I am. Anyway I said something about how you can't really compete with the dead, because they always win. Or Tyra did. That's when my alarm went off, which I'm sure is the only reason I remember any of this. it does make me wonder what my subconscious has been getting up to without me.

The mashed potatoes, by the way, were really dry.

Also, I need to write a little bio for the departmental web page and am desperately trying to work the adjective "frisky" in there. To no effect, which is probably just as well.

I'm thinking that resisting the frisky for the departmental website is a good idea. AU with pappa Winchester and Sam slicing and dicing each other over losing Dean has definite possibilities.

I was sitting there in my dream thinking, well, you know, Sam and Dean can function without John, and John and Dean can function without Sam, but John and Sam? So not at all in the land of the functional. Like, they were arguing about mashed potatoes.

No friskiness in my departmental biography. Just as well.

Well, the attraction of Sam and Dean, or John and Dean, is that the relationships function, but you can see the damage being inflicted to make them work. The attraction of Sam and John is that you can see the damange they inflict on each other, but they don't even get a functional relationship out of it for their trouble. Family. Gotta love it.
