bathroom literature

Our box room is now full of tiles and bathroom fixtures and all kinds of stuff -- you know what this means, right? It means we're getting our bathroom redone! Huzzah!!!!! I'm both excited and terrified because on the one hand, new bathroom! but on the other, construction! (Since we're having a wall torn down and a new door put in and stuff like that.) It will all be very disruptive, but it will be worth it. I hope.

I've started to rewrite my article from scratch; it seems to be making a difference. I mean, the information is the same, as are some of the sentences, but somehow it seems to flow more easily now and I can see the gaps in the argument or the evidence more clearly now. Strange, but whatever works, I guess.

I was very pleased by the response to The Instincts of a Good Man; it was a fun little piece to write, and frankly, writing Jack is a bit of a relief, because he always knows what he's doing. I think it's amusing that I've come around to Syd/Vaughn again after my horror of it back in Season 3, and even more that I've started to like Vaughn more and more, after spending a couple of seasons praying every episode for his death.
I am also bemused by the way I seem to have tripped from writing about Jack to writing about John Winchester, since both characters are more-or-less defined by their relationships to their children. But like I said, at least Jack knows what he's doing. Most of the time.

Today's tasks: finish the article draft, and finish a draft of my multiverse pinch-hit. (I failed to sign up for any ficathons, so instead I'm writing pinch-hits. It's not like I don't always write ficathon stories at the 11th hour anyway.)
