Woe. My sore throat had flowered into a full-fledged cold. I am going to make some tea and take to my bed. Tomorrow I will have to buy lemons and whiskey, as the whiskey I have in unsuitable for hot toddies.

And again, woe.

I will be very unhappy if I also end up with this cold! Knock on wood, but it hasn't caught me yet; then again, I spent two more days in a house with a fifteen-year-old who came down with a cold the last day I was in Montréal, so I admit the prospects look dim and grim. I'll just have to stuff myself full of Cold-Eeze and hope for the best.

Heh. A Classic Cold! which obviously requires good old fashioned treatment: Chicken soup, mustard compresses for the throat, and liberal amounts of warmed, sweetened alcohol.
I should have gone out and stocked up on rum.

I find myself quite fascinated by your cures.

Unfortunately, I don't like whiskey unless it's in -- for me -- unaffordable categories, like twenty-five-year-old single malt from the Orkneys I once had with this boyfriend who fancied himself an expert...

Get well soon! (Have you seen my Spy Santa post? The three I mentioned below have already said they're sorry and will post ASAP; as for the rest, I plan to send them a personal mail; if they don't reply, I guess we'll have to hunt for replacements, eh? Any suggestions?)

I did see your spy santa post, and wanted to thank you for it -- I was meaning to do something similar at the end of the week. I think that if the people you email don't reply, we'll look for backup writers -- I'll have to take a look at the assignments, but I can probably write something, and I'll put out feelers if necessary.

Sorry I've been such an absentee co-moderator, recently.

And I feel strongly that alcohol cures most things. You can always make a hot toddy with rum (in fact, I think you're supposed to), but I prefer whiskey for drinking.
