Al/Alma is so completely my new OTP. Please tell me that I was not alone in feeling the crackling sexual tension between the two. Far, far more tension than there ever was between Alma and Seth. Alma and Al can run the town, fight off Hearst and the Pinkertons, and fall madly in love. And just think how much it will annoy Bullock. "What tea do you like?" indeed!

Ah, Charlie Udder. He managed that last scene pretty well (there was a moment when I thought Wolcott might try to knife him, although I suspect he only attacks women), but I'm still worried for Joanie. I'd also like to know how much he told Seth and Sol -- because Seth was very quiet in that meeting, but I have a hard time imagining him being happy to go along with Tolliver's "no penalty for murder if you work for Mr. Hearst" line. I don't have any trouble imagining Seth running a trial, conviction and execution through in the middle of winter, before anyone outside can intervene.

So either Trixie is just spying on Seth and Sol, or she wants Al to think she is; I'm guessing from her tone in the last episode that she's there to spy. She doesn't dislike Sol, particularly, but she doesn't feel as strongly about him as she does about Al. (And I have no idea what that whole thing about Moses doing the heavy lifting was supposed to mean. I need to see the script for these episodes, I think -- for that, and for Al's soliloquy to his parcel, which was another prize moment.)

I love the way Al's putting himself back into the driver's seat, one person and one issue at a time. Cy Tolliver isn't going to know what hit him, and neither will Hearst and his lackeys.

That's it for now -- not because I don't have more to say, but because this isn't brief any more.

I'm really afraid for Joanie - although I pretty much think if anything happens to her or if she disappears, Utter will kill Wolcott and Wolcott knows it...

The Al/Alma interview was PRICELESS! Now, I can't see them as an OTP but that's because I don't want to see Al and his Crusty Longjohns in a sexual situation EVER again! But I love that they're interacting. And Bullock didn't piss me off tonight, so that was cool!

That interview was a thing of beauty. I adored watching Al hold on to his composure by his fingernails, and the way Alma tested how much power she had over him.

I was confused by the Moses thing too, but R thinks she meant that Moses took on the larger share of the burden by actually bearing the tablets the laws were written on. All we have to do is live by them, which is easier.

Unfortunately I don't think the situation is directly related to any of the commandments, as it was more of a "Love thy neighbor as thyself" situation anyway.

Okay, crusty longjohns, ew.

Al's soliloquy (and there've been a few of those on the show lately) was wonderful--very theatrical, especially as he exited stage right with the head in a parcel.

I'm pretty sure it's the head of a dead Indian. Remember in season 1 when Al put a bounty on the Indians that killed Sofia's family? Someone brought him back one.

I'm also going to say "I don't see it" about the sexual tension between Alma and Al. I have a hard time believing she would condescend to ever touch the guy.

But I do feel other kinds of tension there, and I think it has the potential to be a really powerful, driving relationship. There's no question they would literally take over the town. And Alma's being so closely allied with Al would drive Seth NUTS. I love love love that.
