Dec. 29th, 2003 06:39 pmHm. It is clear that there's no way in hell I'm getting all my work done before we leave for San Francisco. Drat.
My existence is about to become nomadic, so the travel icon is back. It's like this:
Dec 31-January 5: San Francisco. Limited or non-existent internet access. Drunkenness, stress, interviews and academic politics.
January 6-24: Mexico. Limited internet access. Lying on the hammock, watching the pelicans, eating at the little taqueria on the square and spending quality time with my parents. Writing syllabi for my spring term classes and reading essays on the Second Sophistic.
So if you suddenly sit up on January 10th or so, and wonder what the hell happened to me, that's your answer.
