I'm probably the last person in the world still watching ER on a regular basis. The fact that I am amazes me at times, particularly when I sit through episodes like last night's, which was all about Abby. I took an irrational dislike to her character when she was first introduced, and she's given me no reason to change my opinion.

But it was all redeemed by one beautiful moment of confrontation between my two favorite characters, Weaver and Romano. The claw vs. the crutch. That was just beautiful. The moment where Kerry called Romano her bitch? I need an icon of that.

And Romano needs to replace that claw-thing with a hook. Seriously.

I have to admit to never having watched it, but you're so not the only one. I think at least 4-5 people on my friends list talk about it... I know [livejournal.com profile] destina watches.

Hey, did you read [livejournal.com profile] logane's Luka/Carter fic on LJ last week or so? Really lovely and angsty.

I watch it, so diligently now that I only watched last night's game during commercials while ER was on.

Weaver and Romano were the best thing last night, weren't they? He really is her bitch. Brilliant!

I watch it regularly. Not 'still' but 'again'. Used to be a huge fan back in the day, but once Carol left and the nightmare of Abby took over, I was out of there. I started watching this season again, because I like the new character, the Hindu one. Haven't seen the latest episode yet, forgot to tape it, so I'm DLing it right now. But, yep, watching.

I always thought she was a Carol wannabe, but she hardly had the qualities. The most annoying character on the show, ever. I just couldn't stand her, especially once she got hold of Luka - maybe not the most perfect guy on Earth but the two of them were just pathetic. I was out of there.

passing through on my friends'friends...

GAH! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that detests Abby. Cannot stand that whiny, self-absorbed creature. It doesn't help that the writers seem to luuuuuv her and keep writing Abby-centered eps.

I'm so glad Luka's back. There's a character I adore.

yes, yes, yes. Many many people have commented on this over the years. They are pushing her down our throats and we're gagging on her.

I was once a loyal fan, but haven't watched in several years. I have kept up on the general shape of developments, though, partly because I used to beta-read for a friend who wrote ER fic.

I'm not certain how Romano lost his arm, but the fact that he did is a source of regular amusement for me when I see ads for the show now. I always had a love-to-hate-him affection for Romano, and all I can say is dude, you gotta watch out for those knife-wielding Russian peasants.

Wow, didn't know that dislike of Abby was so prevalent! At the risk of merely echoing the general sentiment, I too love Weaver and Romano - especially Romano, especially armless - and find Abby annoying. Last week (or was it the week before last?) when Carter rushed off to Africa again, and she ran after him saying, "Stay! Don't leave me again! Stay!" I was rolling my eyes and shaking my head in bemusement. I don't want to turn all autobiographical here, but if your partner needs to spend some time in a foreign country, then babe, you gotta let him/her go.

I also admit to a hopeless fondness for Susan, even though nothing really interesting has happened to her character since she returned to the show.

I just don't have your affinity for villains, so I can't stand any screen time that Romano gets. Well, except for that one special moment yesterday. And my enjoyment of Maura Tierney just about makes up for the character, at least for the 3-4x/year that I watch ER.
(My revulsion has always been, always will be, for that Deb creature. Squish like bug!! Squish her!!)

D'oh! I can't believe I missed a good Weaver/Romano scene!

I was a loyal fan of ER for years and years, but in the last year I've steadily lost interest, to the point that I didn't even bother to tape it last night. Largely because of the criminal underuse of Laura Innes and the fact that I can't stand where most of the characters have ended up. All that Carter/Abby/Luka crap? Please. ;P

I am troubled by all of the comments on this entry, because it means the commenters are not watching Without A Trace. :)
