I just happened upon an Alias drabble community, [livejournal.com profile] alias100. I'm not very good with 100 word stories, but they're an interesting discipline, and I thought I might as well pimp it out. It's rather small, but may hold promise.

And also, my Evil Genius has conquered all: [livejournal.com profile] cassandre has admitted to watching Alias DVDs, and has already recognized the wonder of Jack Bristow. Isn't he just... amazing? In a repressed, tormented and potentially violent way. I still think he has the best first scene ever.

I like to think that repressed people can scare the pants off people too. Jack Bristow is a comfort to me, that way.

Here we are fanficking -- or anyway, trafficking -- in the same fandoms again, and picking out the same people to be fixated on. Are you sure you're not me?

Yeah, that's me, I confess -- all hail Evil Genius! Do you mean that scene where Sydney's fiance rings Bristow up to ask for her hand, and he makes no attempt to conceal his disdain? That scene did make me warm to Bristow right away. :) I mean, seeking paternal permission before one makes a proposal of marriage is not considerate or charmingly retro; it's merely sexist or hypocritical. (Oops, feminist streak showing!) But Bristow is a wonderful character. Admittedly I am a total sucker for repressed, tormented and potentially violent males (on television, anyway!).

And by the way, you gotta love Sydney's outfits! The way they reflect whatever locale she happens to be in at any given time. The ones with glasses are especially good. Also, her partner (Dixon?) has this one-size-fits-all image, that sets off Sydney's wardrobe beautifully.

Forgive me if these comments are a little naive. I am still only halfway through Season 1.
