24 missing scene stuff

Wow. Lame that I am, I just bothered following this link, which describes a missing scene from the very end of the second season of 24.
There are two versions of the scene provided: in one, Mandy walks off (after killing (?) Palmer) and is seen with Nine Myers. The second, which is even better is given by one of the posters in the comments, and I'm quoting, "The deleted scene shows Mandy phone Max to say "It's done". We cut to Max, he's on a boat, Nina walks up to him, they kiss. Nina does NOT interact with Mandy."
This scenario would make me the happiest camper in the whole wide world. Usually I don't really pay attention to missing scenes--I don't consider them canon. This was deleted, apparently, because the producers felt that Nina's presence would be too difficult to explain, so it really isn't canon. But goodness, I want it to be true.
I understand that it's likely that Nina won't be in Season 3 at all, and I think that would be a shame.
I wasn't really planning on buying the 24 DVDs. And I still probably won't, because I'm cheap and lazy, but I'm tempted, just for that scene.
