1. Your favorite *non-fiction* book.
Ronald Syme, The Roman Revolution. About Augustus' rise to power and written in 1939, with a subtext which is all about fascism. Syme's writing is an acquired taste, but I like it. Despite his lack of verbs.
2. Your favorite children's book (from the age when you were being read to, or just beginning to read.)
Little House on the Prairie. My parents read that to me, until I could read it myself.
3. Your favorite book as a young adult (define "young adult" as you will.)
From junior high to high school, it was Checkmate by Dorothy Dunnett.
4. Your favorite fantasy author.
Patricia A. McKillip. I love all her words. Even the ones in sentences you have to read more than once to understand.
5. A slashy book that you own.
Well, if we keep going with the Dunnett, The Disorderly Knights is pretty slashy, because hello? Jerott? And Adam has a huge crush on Francis too, although it isn't quite as evident in this one.
