Thank you so much for writing for me this year! I am very excited that my schedule is allowing me to sign up for Yuletide! The fandoms I have requested are all canons I really love and am interested in, so if you have a story you would really love to write involving the characters I've chosen, go ahead and write it.
Also, usually I do request at least some male characters but somehow this never happened here.
I am open to treats, and would love one!
Most of what's below is a slightly expanded version of my sign-up, or just copied directly.
General likes:
Enemies or rivals being forced to work together; competent characters doing what they're good at OR being forced outside their comfort zone; relationships between equal partners; happy or hopeful endings; canon-divergence AUs; crossovers; character-driven stories and plots; adventures, quests and other hijinks.
DNW:
A/B/O, D/s and related dynamics; harm to children within the story (references to canonical child death or injury are fine, though); PWP or NC-17 rated fic; humiliation; non-canon-setting AUs; non-canonical incest.
12 Monkeys: Katarina Jones, Jennifer Goines
I request this fandom a lot, and I'm always happy to see it! This year's request is more or less copied from the last time I did Yuletide.
It is not necessary to include both women in your story: a focus on one of the other would be fine. On the other hand I do think their dynamic is really interesting and underdeveloped on the show, especially that between older Jennifer and Katarina. I really love Katarina, but I also really love the way Jennifer gets under her skin so effortlessly, and how much fun she has doing it. I would love to see the two of them having to work together, perhaps in some kind of time-travel adventure, perhaps having to hold off an attack when the rest of the cast are off doing something else.
Other prompts for Katarina: I love that she’s such an asshole, and so convinced she’s right. I love that just when you think she can’t do anything worse she goes ahead and finds something worse to do. I absolutely still ship her with Olivia, and love how she uses their mutual obsession to get the upper hand – I would really enjoy some dubcon here. I love her interactions with pretty much every member of the cast, especially the way she has to build her relationship with Hannah, but also with Cole and Cassie. And I love Deacon with everyone so take that as read.
Other prompts for Jennifer: I would love a take on her time leading the Daughters: she knows what’s coming already, but she can’t do anything about it yet. That must be so weird and difficult! I would also be interested in a meeting between her and Deacon during this period especially if you posit that he remembers what will happen too; this could be shippy or gen. I guess looking at my prompts I find Older Jennifer really interesting and would love to see anything more of her, but I do of course also love Younger Jennifer, especially as she grows to trust Cole and Cassie, but I kind of feel that what the show gave me there is good. On the other hand I feel like a story about Jennifer and Ramse having adventures together would be excellent, especially if it explored some of their similarities to do with knowing the future and their twisted relationships with Olivia.
The Expanse: Chrisjen Avasarala, Bobbie Draper, Camina Drummer
It is not necessary to include all these characters in your story -- something that focuses on only one or two of them would be fine. And I actually love the whole show and the whole case so feel free to bring in other characters in major roles, provided that at least one of my chosen characters plays an equally large or larger role.
I love all three characters, and I particularly love where they ended up at the end of the TV series; I would adore some post-series fic. I'm particularly interested in the political situation, which might suggest a fic focused on Drummer and how she manages in her new position -- I am sure there will be plenty of political issues that would bring her back into contact and conflict with Avasarala! The show left the situation with Mars and the Martian military (and various factions thereof) unresolved, and that might also bring the Rocis and Bobbie Draper back into one or the others' orbit; I'd also be interested in a story about Bobbie and the crew settling in and having further adventures. What's it like when they aren't the saviors of the system any more? can they ever go back to more normal lives?
I really love the worldbuilding of this show -- the sense that space is really dangerous, but also the social and political differences of Earth, Mars and the Belt. A story focues on just one of these characters plus some worldbuilding would be great, although I didn't select that as a tag here.
I would also read any of these characters shipped together, or in a situation of unresolved sexual tension with each other -- I do love the Bobbie/Chrisjen ship, and I feel like Bobbie and Camina, or Camina and Chrisjen, would also be interesting ships to explore, although I also feel like all these characters have their own agendas, which may cause conflict between them. I prefer no threesomes here.
For All Mankind: Danielle Poole, Molly Cobb, Margo Madison, Aleida Rosales
You do not need to include all these characters in your story -- it might be hard to shoehorn them in -- but I would be very happy to receive a story about any set of two of them interacting. I think I'd prefer that to a story that only includes one of them.
I binged this whole show recently, and it is just so cool! I love alternate history as a genre, and I love the way in which little changes pile up here, and create larger and larger changes. I picked what are probably my four favorite characters for this show -- at least, they are the characters whose well-being I am most interested in. I'd be happy to see some future fic for any of them, but I'd also be interested in missing scenes, or their own perspective on canon events that they might be peripheral to -- or, especially for Molly and Danielle, some glimpse into their lives pre-series. They're all risk-takers (and rule-breakers, sometimes), and mostly, but not always, those risks pay off. I wouldn't mind a story which goes into the ways in which sexism, homophobia and racism affect these characters, but don't feel you have to go there if you don't want to.
A few prompts -- but feel free to write the story you want to write! I'd love to see Danielle's thoughts on applying to the program in the first place -- what got her over that line? How does Aleida feel about Margo's shortcomings as a patron? what on earth is going to happen to Margo, anyway? (Unlike some, I actually thought her end-of-season 3 fate made a lot of sense for her as a person, so I don't need a fix-it for that, or for Molly's fate -- but I would defintely be happy to read a canon-AU where those things didn't happen) I am also really interested in the Molly-and-Wayne relationship and would love to see them together -- clearly it works really well for them, and I'd love something that leaned into their 1970s life.
Or, if you want to ship any two of these characters together, go for it!
Crossovers!
It is true, I love crossovers. It is also true that I believe that The Expanse and For All Mankind are basically set in the same universe, and if you would like to write a world-building focused story that digs into the future history behind that you can toss aside all my character-requests and focus on that idea.
Otherwise, feel free to look through my AO3 page -- I would love a crossover between any of these three canons and anything else I'm familiar with.
