this is not a movie review

I saw Iron Man in the theater this weekend -- this is the first movie I've seen in the movie theater for months, and I hope it's a sign of a good summer blockbuster season to come (certainly, the promos for Prince Caspian and the Indiana Jones movie looked good). I really, really liked Iron Man, which is just was well, since it seems to be taking over my friends list right at the moment.
But there was one thing that bugged me: in the award ceremony at the beginning, where they do the Tony Stark Family History Infodump, there are a series of magazine covers. One of them, I'm pretty sure, read something like "Tony Stark: Taking the Reigns." It flashed by pretty quickly, but I don't think there was a pun on "reigning" there.
Yes, I even proofread movies now. I blame my undergraduates. I am also a little shocked that NO ONE CAUGHT THAT.
PEOPLE! "Reigns" is a verb, meaning "rules" (like, what kings do). "Reins" are the leather things attached to the bridle you use to make the horse go where you want it. "Taking the reins" to mean "taking control" is a riding metaphor, and has NOTHING TO DO WITH RULING.
Why yes, I really am that anal.
In other news, it is cold and rainy out, but I need to run errands sometime today. Woe!
