OK, I was going to post about how I had no fannish joy, but I am watching the opening episode of the new season of the wire and they ARE DOING THE COPIER TRICK!!!!

I'm sorry, that's not a spoiler. It's the COPIER TRICK!!! From the book!!!! Thos of you who know what I mean know why this deserves all caps. I mean, really, it deserves allcaps, bolded and italicized, but I'm still a little too tired for that.

(I still haven't seen Season 4, by the way. Is it out on DVD yet?)

Yes, it is (as of December!) It's FABULOUS - although quite heartbreaking.

It was great in the book. And didn't Munch and Bolinger do it on HLOTS? I think even more than once...

I think you may be right -- in fact, I think in this scene, one detective says to the other something like, "does this still work?"

The copier scene was great, as was the rest of episode. Are you talking about the book Homicide? Dennis gave it to me for Christmas but I've only just started it. Welcome "home". I'm sorry to hear your travels were so painful.

Yes -- I had forgotten about that, but it's also a great scene. And this time one of the detectives makes a crack about how the trick really shouldn't still work.

Heh. I don't even have the excuse of not having cable. I just didn't watch it. But this fall BH and I bought the DVDs of Season 1 and got hooked.
