I saw the finale of The Vampire Diaries last night. I was pretty spoiled for it, but still, Anna! Woe! I was not prepared for how it happened. So I was not at all sad when Katherine came back and managed to get into the house and hack Evil Uncle John to death. Although I am very concerned for everyone else in the house, because that was quite a cliffhanger. I am especially concerned for Jeremy, lying on his bed and waiting to die -- poor Jeremy!

Did Bonnie ever really apologize for not having disabled the device? I didn't think so, and liked her all the more for it. (She kind of apologizes, I guess, but I don't get the sense that it's because she thought she was wrong, more that she knew it would upset Elena.) Two thumbs up for Bonnie! Also, I really hope that Caroline is OK.

And the mayor is a werewolf? Is that something I would have known if I'd been paying more attention?

Last week was the end of this season of Doctor Who. Can I have the next one now, please? My non-spoilery comment: the Doctor is wonderful. Amy Pond is wonderful. Rory is wonderful. River Song is wonderful.

Here's one thing I was thinking, since I was thinking about River Song: the whole idea of a time-traveling archaeologist is crazy. If you could travel in time, you wouldn't need to do archaeology. You could just go back and take pictures and talk to people.

Here's another thing I was thinking: River Song/Amanda Darrieux. You know it just makes sense.
