You know, I really need an icon with Duncan or Methos on it. Or maybe Amanda. There may need to be some icon reorganization in my future.

Anyway, a question for HL fans on my friends list -- what connections does Duncan have with Chicago? Did he live there? does he have friends there? I can't remember anything, but my knowledge of canon is fairly patchy.

Mmm. HL: The Raven is set in Chicago, Vanzetti, and per the Watcher CD Gregor Powers moved there after "Studies in Light" and went to med school. But I don't know that Duncan was ever there canonically. Does that help?

Actually, I may be very seriously screwed. Amanda lives in Chicago? Urk. I don't suppose she moves away after the end of the series?

The Chicago thing is in some debate. Remember how Seacouver came about? Well, some Raven fans referred to Amanda's city as Torago (as in Toronto+Chicago) but by the end of Raven, she was living in Paris at a club anyway.

Pfew! That may save me -- I think I thought the whole series took place in Paris.

I don't ever remember them naming the city Amanda lived in here. Hence the "Torago" joke, but yeah the last we saw her she was in Paris. For the most part, the best episodes were set in Paris. It's when the series really hit it's stride. *woe*

Come to think of it, yeah, She ends up running a club/bar set on Holy Ground in Paris, I believe. Now, her housekeeper/confidante is still in Chicago. Is this a problem?

No, I don't think so -- a friend of a friend in Chicago is fine, and may come in handy. I just had a moment of "OMG! she might still be there in 2006!" panic.

Well, honestly, it's Amanda -- it's never hard to have her be somewhere, or *not* be somewhere, as needed. All it needs is one spectacular heist opportunity in a convenient place.

I don't remember any canon sources that gives Mac any connections to Chicago. At least, not modern day. I don't remember if he spent any time there in the flashbacks. I remember mob stuff so it's likely, but not modern day.

I'm OK with flashbacks -- I mean, he's been everywhere! -- but I wasn't sure if he had friends settled there at the end of the series.

::blinks:: Do you know, I wasn't even thinking of Benny, I was looking for the flashbacks to Duncan dealing with the Black Hand? Half a sec, while I go look... Nope, Benny was back in Seacouver even in the flashbacks, per the site I found. (Not bad at all, a site called Highlander A-Z. My Highlander book is still packed, drat it.)
