Tell me, friends list, is deciding that your HL/SPN story needs another action scene and that the easiest way to provide one is to have some random evil Immortal turn up to attack Duncan acceptable, or totally cliched? Or maybe both? I need to get things moving more quickly, and I've already used up one SPN-related plotline.

My [livejournal.com profile] family_secret fic is officially dead in the water. I have the opening of one story, and an idea for a different story, and neither of these will be done by the ever-approaching deadline. Argh! So much for my ability to write stories which aren't crossovers, these days. I'll finish the first of these two, though, and preferably by the end of the summer. Just not by June 1st.

...And to be honest, the crossovers all feel like they have a higher priority in my brain, despite the lack of deadlines. I mean, I still need to finish Blessings! and I finally started the sex scene in another story, which means that may actually be able to be sent out to betas someday!

Let us not speak of my work-related writing commitments.

And now it's summer, the weekend before I leave for England, where apparently it's English summer, which is not quite the same thing. Grr.

Random evil immortals attacking Duncan are always acceptable. All the more so if you can work some absurdist humor into the duel.

Summer has arrived here, meaning that I take refuge indoors with the air conditioning. It's ridiculously hot, even under the trees.

It's somewhat of a cliche, but it does depend on how you handle it. But if you make it Kenny and let John shoot the little bastard, I assure you, it would be completely acceptable! (Does that help?)

Hey, shooting Kenny is a community service. And if John catches him acting his real age, not apparent, he might think Kenny's a demon? (God knows some of the rest of us do.)

Good luck with it!

Drat. Oh, well, it was a lovely thought while it lasted. Hope the story's going well!

Totally acceptable, cuz that's the nature of the game. Random immortals attacking each other. Yes.

It's going to be interesting. No worries. *shakes fist at plot too*

Given how many evil Immortals Duncan has pissed off in his four hundred years? I'd say cliche, yes, but typical of Duncan? you betcha.

And keep the shooting Kenny idea for some random SPN/HL fic in the future. For yes, the little monster needs to be shot and often. :-p
