I am not sure I need to say anything more than this:

My name is vaznetti. I am an active participant in Supernatural fandom. I don't like Wincest of any variety.

I like this fandom very much, and would be sorry to find that this opinion meant that I could not be part of it. That has certainly not been my experience so far, and I hope that the fandom will remain tolerant of both pro- and anti-wincest opinion.

The fandom *is* tolerant of both - in fact, I really like that it mostly goes out of its way to label fic and comms and help both pro and anti to find what they want and miss what they don't want.

What the fandom (and most other fandoms too) don't care for is teenagers (both literal and emotional) telling everyone else what they should or shouldn't do. The person who posted OMG you people who like wincest, you're perverted and you're *raping canon* and you must STOP!, that's the thing nobody really cares for. Ditto for the other person who insisted on telling people they should not comment on stories they liked if they were written by popular authors, that's just silly and nobody much cares for that either. Those two are the ones big on entitlement, imho, thinking that fandom should revolve around their wishes and if they don't like it or agree with it, then nobody else should either.

So you know, be pissed off at them. :) But as far as I've seen, even when talking to the wankers, most people have been polite and rational.

Choice is an excellent thing. :)

Me, I mostly ignore it, there has been wank for all of the ten years I've been around fandom and there will likely always be wank so mainly I just watch for good sig line fodder. ;)

I would have to agree with the above commenter. I am an absolute tinhat Wincest shipper, and it doesn't bother me in the least that there are people I generally like who don't care for the stuff, any more than it bothers me that there are people in the world who don't care for raspberry vinaigrette, which is also in my opinion one of the best things evar.

What bothers me is the people who dislike Wincest who insist on telling me that:

1) there's something wrong with me because I like it;

2) when I say I see incestuous subtext in canon and am not just writing/reading this stuff because I have a kink or because there is something wrong with me, I must be lying or saying that just to be annoying, and/or I am stupidly claiming that Wincest IS canon, which anyone with a two-digit IQ knows can't be true;

3) they have the right to tell me what to write or read.

If you don't like Wincest, you don't like Wincest. I personally hate zucchini, but I don't see why the fact that you might like it would make it impossible for us to be friends.

I'm with you, btw. I loathe incest in any variety and like my world to be Wincest free. It's a small world in this fandom, but I make due.

Don't know exactly what went down, but if I got it correctly, this is just to say that I'm not a fan of wincest, it icks me, but I consider it perfectly normal if someone has the exact opposite taste, cuz, duh. World means variety. Doesn't mean I'm any better than them, or they than me, and doesn't mean I got to preach and convert them and neither. they. me.

I write what I like, I read what I like, I comment if I like.

And aaaall is shiny. As simple as that. Bliss.

Now...did anyone bring blankets? The floor is kinda hard...
