belated update

I spent some of the afternoon reading a bunch of tl;dr stuff about the "gen" categorization, and also some sensible posts by people on my friends list. From now on, I believe that I will follow vee_fic as my leader and call all my stories "Bob."

We will not discuss my complete and utter inability to rate my own stories.

And now, some public acknowledgement. I received some extremely nice presents from my friends list. destina made me icons; this is one of them. I also really like the crossover Venn diagrams.

dotfic wrote So Screwed, a drabble about the day of John's first hunt. Perfect.

rez_lo wrote Duluth, which is Jo, and gen, and has a surprise cameo of sorts.

And finally, hossgal wrote Signs and Portents, a SPN/BSG crossover. Yes, more Winchesters in Space! It's John, pre-series, and very much himself.

I don't hink I've left anything out, but now I'm worried. But anyway, I had a very nice birthday indeed. There was even cake!

I pretty much sniffled through the whole end of Friday Night Lights. I do that a lot, with this show.

Oh, boys, I thought. And Tim made a Brokeback joke! And Lyla with the cars! And Tyra! It was all a bit shmoopy, but I think they mostly earned it. And they paid for it, in other ways.

It was shmoopy, especially the scene out on the field with the four of them, but I agree that they've earned it. And there was enough that wasn't easy -- Tyra and her mother, Lyla with the cars -- that it was a welcome respite.

I loved the Brokeback joke.
