I've just watched the first two episodes of Supernatural. I'm a little lukewarm on Sam, but I adore Dean. The thing is that he's kind of an asshole, and clearly works hard at that, but also, he has the wildly overdeveloped sense of personal responsibility that I fall hard for in fictional characters.

So apparently this is the reverse of other viewers? I don't dislike Sam, exactly, but he's (reasonably enough) having trouble seeing anything outside himself at the moment. Whereas I've just fallen hard for Dean. Let's all hope it lasts.

If this keeps up, I may need some new icons.

Heh, just got online to check e-mail and figured, ah hell, I'll check LJ.

I like Sam, even though (and sometimes because) he annoys the crap out of me regularly -- about half of the time by being him, and half by being such a younger brother.

But Dean...he pushes so many of my emotional and physical buttons that it frankly terrifies me, on top of totally identifying with him as the older of two siblings. So, yeah. If you do decide you need iconage, feel free to let me know.

Sam will probably grow on me, but right now he comes across as immature and selfish when compared to Dean -- but I don't think that it's a fair comparison, because they've had very different lives for at least the last five years or so, and Sam is doing some major rearranging of his ideas about his place in the world, present and future.

Not that Dean is an angel himself, but he hits a lot of what I like in a character. And wears a leather jacket.

In my experience, the fandom is heavily weighted towards Dean admirers, so you shouldn't feel out of place.

Wow. I don't think I've ever liked the main character before this. It will take some getting used to. (That's kind of a joke -- kind of.)

My love for Dean was immediate and overwhelming. Then again, I was already biased.

Were you? I can't remember what I'd seen him in before. But I too am overwhelmed by the Dean love.

Hmmm. I became a fan when he joined the cast of Dark Angel, but he's been on a handful of shows since then. Um. Dawson's Creek, Smallville for a season. And he was on Days of Our Lives for a while, I think. Nothing big, but he's been around long enough to ping the fannish radar, I think.
