For [livejournal.com profile] crossovers100, prompt 90: Home. Just a little thing, to get me started.

"You're telling me that your sister was kidnapped by a shadowy government agency and turned into a killing machine," the bounty hunter said. "And that's why I should let you go."

"That's why you're going to let me go," Simon corrected him. He kept his hands raised.

"I would be more sympathetic if the same thing hadn't happened--" The man whirled around just in time to meet River's attack; it was, Simon thought, more than most people managed, but then the gun went flying and he had to dive to grab it before the bounty hunter could reach it. He got to his feet in time to see him go down, flat on his back, and was almost certain he caught a muttered, "Not another one," as he fell.

River hovered above his unconscious body, her hands fluttering over his face. "Pretty," she said, more to herself than to Simon, and then, looking up, "Can he follow me home?"

End

Barely worth the cut tag, that.

Is this part of a larger story?

Very cool! Sark's life just got interesting. And he thought it already was.

This is camille, answering from work and with no idea what my log-in is. Anyway. Jayne! The difference between SArk and Jayne is that Sark usually has a motive, which makes him situationally dangerous but somewhat predictable. For Jayne, however, "I was feeling cranky that day" is sufficient motive. Which makes him a bit more...like juggling liquid TNT.

Maybe it's mean, but I do like seeing Sark a little out of his depth. *g*

Tell River she has to stand in line behind a lot of people if she wants to take Sark home.

Love the story.
