I had a whole "Fannish 2012 in review post" written up which I then lost, which is pretty typical for this afternoon. Because unfortunately, although I have lived in Britain at least part time since 1992, I still do not speak the language well enough to avoid really unfortunate misunderstandings.

It was pretty awful -- in part because I'm not the one who suffered from the misunderstanding, and there's nothing I can do about it at this point.
