What I can't decide about tonight's 24 is this. As soon as Tony started talking about leaving CTU, I started saying to myself "Damn, self. They're going to kill off Tony Almeida!" By the time Michelle agreed to leave with him, it was a near-certainty, and I was not surprised when Tony got himself taken hostage. But what I'm wondering (and yes, this is the wishful thinking speaking) is whether it was all a little too obvious -- can I hope that the writers will relent and decide that making us think that Tony is going to die is just as good as actually killing him off?

Please?

This season's 24 has been a bit over the top, what with The Incredible Escapes of Habib Marwan and the thing where Jack has to torture every single member of Audrey's family. Maybe the season will end with the nuclear missile landing in LA and killing off the whole cast.

In other news, it's cold and rainy here -- absolutely miserable. So of course on the way home from work I bought a sun-dress and a light cotton skirt. God only knows when I'll get to wear them, although there is at least the possibility of some time in the south of France this summer.

Oooooh, I need a sundress and another light cotton skirt... to go with my damsel in distress shirt. (Hair blowing in the breeze)

I intend to hope that very thing. Cause if they don't let Tony and Michelle have a happyish-ever-after, then I will give up on this show. I just don't care about any of the other characters anymore, and if they destroy these two, then I won't care about the show. And I don't want to not love the show!

I hover on the edge of boredom with this show more and more, because they seem to have left much of the human element behind. I liked the Jack it bothered to do terrible things to people, and I sort of found fascinating, if I didn't exactly like, the screwed up drug addicted Jack who chopped off the head of one of the villains to get back into his undercover operation. But this season seemed to be a lot of going through the motions, except for Michelle and Tony and Chloe. I never thought I'd say this, but I really miss Kim. She was a reminder, if nothing else, that Jack was a human being.

But if they kill Tony, I'm gone (again). Not so much in the indignant "how could they do that to my favorite character" way in which I stopped watching X-files, but more because there won't be enough left to hold my interest. Which I really regret, because I loved Keifer Sutherland when he started in the part.
