vaznetti: (write to me)
I appear to have slept through the zombie apocalypse. Interesting. I told my husband that having a zombie apocalypse contingency plan would be worthwhile; it's nice to be proved right, I guess.

Hope you're all enjoying those tasty brains, or locked up in a mall somewhere with a lot of guns.

I am almost ready to let my new website loose on the world. It's not the prettiest or best-designed set of pages, but the text is there, and that's what matters, right?

It turns out that my impression that I've been productive in SPN is largely due to the fact that Blessings is so much bigger than anything else I've done (almost 25,000 words at the moment); that and all the drabbles I wrote last summer. And maybe that I seem to have a lot of stories in progress. I was surprised at how many stories I'd written in Alias, though: 29, not counting crossovers. But then, I was pretty active in the fandom for about three years, so maybe it's not all that strange, and of course most of them are fairly short.

One of the interesting things about making the page has been figuring what to put in and what to leave out. My livejournal is scattered with half-formed stories which will probably never be finished, and which I can't quite justify putting up on the page. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that they aren't whole stories, not in the way that even a drabble is a single, whole thing. Perhaps someday I'll put up a page of abandoned stories.

Dear Supernatural Fandom,

It is true that you are very large, and that you contain many things which do not interest me, or which I think are icky and out of character. I know that you won't change, and most of the time, that's OK with me. I have my part of the beautiful pie, and you have yours. But please keep your hysterical, vagina-fearing ways far, far away from me. June is way too early to worry about spoilers for next year, and you are making it really hard for me to claim to people outside the fandom that you are not a bunch of misogynist losers.

Too bitter and old to put up with this crap,

Vanzetti

Characters: John Winchester, Marita Covarrubias, Alex Krycek (Marita/John, Marita/Alex)
Rated: Adult
A/N: Post-series for X-Files, pre-series for SPN. Title from W. H. Auden. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] zarahemla and [livejournal.com profile] se_parsons for beta-reading; they did their best to make the story better, and all the problems left are mine.
Summary: A hunter wanders through the pages of someone else's story.
c. 4000 words

John knocks on the door to unit 16 a little after two in the afternoon. It's just one more anonymous brick townhouse in a whole row of them, white paint and green lawns in a suburb so neat it makes his teeth ache. Just like all the others, but this one has a vicious spirit haunting it: a few months of pranks, but now the cop in unit 14 is in the hospital and this townhouse is at the top of John's list. )
