email issues

At the moment, I'm using webmail (horde) to read my fannish email, but the interface is starting to annoy me. Can anyone recommend a free or cheap email program to me? Once upon a time I used Outlook Express, and I found it easy enough to work with.

(the account uses--I'm almost positive--pop, and I'm running windows xp on the computer I'd like to use for this.)

If you have signed up with this service, please let me know; my locked or filtered posts will be archived on that site, and unfortunately it appears that I will need to unfriend you to prevent this. I lock things for reasons related to my own privacy, and that of others. I tend not to use real names, but even so I'd prefer that material to remain private.

For the record, the first I heard of this was the hue and cry about it on livejournal today. If it's all some kind of prank, then we'll all be a little embarrassed tomorrow.
