The fun of finding a big archive in a new fandom is being able to read everything.

I'm a very impressionable reader. It's easy for a pairing or genre to be ruined for me, if I read enough bad examples of it. Cases in point, MSR and Skinner/Krycek. And so I suspect that my days of reading Syd/Vaughn babyfic are numbered, and have decided to enjoy them while they last.

I haven't been eating as well as I should since my return from San Francisco, so I went to the Greenmarket today and bought greens and flowers (the flowers were my clever substitution for cake). Also bread, cheese and apples, although part of the problem is that I've been living on apples and cheese since Wednesday.

The craze for spring greens has gone too far: they are selling bunches of dandelion in the market, about $1.50/bunch. Really. Well, now I don't need to feel so guilty about the state of my garden in Oxford. I can always claim that I'm growing the dandelions for food. I was rather unsympathetic to my father's complaints about broccoli rabe ("It's a weed!" he said. "It's failed broccoli!") but I draw the line at dandelions.

My apartment now smells faintly of lilacs. I really hope that I'm not about to discover an allergy to them.
