I finally had enough free time to go to a store today, so I bought the Alias S2 DVDs. Goodness, but they are pretty. I was especially struck, this time around, by the scene in which Arvin has Emily's (empty) coffin dug up, in the black of the night, rain pouring down around him. Beautiful scene, beautifully played.

I think suelac has inspired me to make a set of Dunnett-themed icons, but that will take a certain amount of planning. One needs quotations and bases. Hers are all Farscape. I might use Alias bases but fear that it will seem... I don't know. Not quite right.

Time to go watch more Alias.

You don't think ALIAS bases would be appropriate for Dunnett quotes? Gosh, with all the twists and turns and questions of loyalties involved in Dunnett, I'd say the two are a natural match! :)

And now you've got me playing the Dunnett Casting Game with ALIAS actors. Except the only blond male available for Lymond is David Anders, which (perhaps oddly) strikes me as all wrong...

See, I have no trouble seeing Sark as Francis. Look--he even has giant issues with his father! But I rather like Sark and will not consider him solely as plot device until I absolutely have to. (Which is another matter from seeing DA playing the role; personally I think he might pull it off.)

Ah, the Dunnett Casting Game! Fun for the whole family.

As for my "not quite right" comment, I think it's because, despite all the time I spend thinking about it I still think of Alias as eye candy. And yet I can see so many cool and twisty similarities, that I just need to step back.
