I've been amused all afternoon by Chase's post on Alpha Bastards. Everyone should read it.

I have only two words: Francis Crawford.

Not true. I have some other words. But instead I will quote for you one of the ten attributes of the Alpha Bastard: Alpha Bastards like to use sex as a weapon almost more than they like to use weapons as weapons.

OMG, you're so RIGHT. Wow.

Although there is a little overlap: there are hints of Rogue in the Alpha Bastard, but yeah, she nails him. Particularly the bad parenting: not much comes worse than having your child strangled by eunuchs...

I agree that Francis has some Rogue characteristics (especially regarding substance abuse and the Big Romantic Gesture). But otherwise, yes. When I got to this point:

Alpha Bastards have a sentimental attachment to small, dumb, innocent creatures, perhaps because they're the only things they don't perceive as threats.

All I could think of was Jerott. Although I suppose Francis is fine with children who are not actually his own.
