Alias 3x03 spoilers

Except that really, everything I would say has been said already. I adore Lauren Reed, and her outburst. I mean, Sydney was just being Sydney--that's how she always is--but it is rude and condescending. I love her and Vaughn--they're so in love, and it's so sweet. Yes, I am a confirmed Vaughn/Reed shipper. It's love.
And this frees up Sydney for Weiss, who is so very making a move on her. Please. The book? But I loved that drunken scene at the opening, because they're just darling.
Of course, my prediction is that Syd will shoot him down. just like she shot Will down.
Sydney wants to be there when the CIA grabs Sark? Get in line, girl. I'm just saying. Even Vaughn wants a piece of that Sark action.
Like everyone else, I'm wondering if Sark could have been any more obvious with those damn photos? Because Sydney's hat and poncho getup was the worst disguise ever, which is saying something for Alias. My personal belief is that he saw her and recognized her, and leaked the information to her: remember the last time Sark was in Mexico City? He appeared slightly uncomfortable with weapons that kill lots of people from a distance. In an episode which was so completely full of references to past events, I consider the locale a hint. Plus, he knew she'd turn up in Moscow.
Well, OK, a lot of other stuff has happened since then, but still.
Meanwhile, Jack has gone off the deep end. I happen to think that Jack did once have a moral compass, but he seems to have permanently misplaced it. His insane actions re: Madagascar--risking Sydney's life to ensure that she would never trust her mother--are starting to look more like the norm and less like an aberration. Somehow, between losing Sydney, working with Irina, and getting thrown in jail, Jack has entirely forgotten that there are lines one should not cross. Don't even try to tell me he wasn't wondering whether killing Marshall might not be the simplest thing. He considered it--he just decided it wasn't necessary yet.
Of course, it turns out that Dixon and Marshall are blind as bats, because really, Sydney was very recognizable on what they had. So perhaps Jack needn't have been so worried. But I think that his protectiveness is driving him to greater and greater risks. Will there be fallout? I'd like there to be.
And finally, Crazy Uncle Arvin! I just start to cackle whenever he turns up onscreen. I do. Because he's so funny. That last line, to Vaughn? How Sloane loved watching them all squirm--that was evil, I admit. He had the cutest little evil smile on his face!
Oh, Christ. I'm findign Sloane cute. I'm going to hell.
Frankly, the Reed/Vaughn carried me through the episode and gave me a lot to like. (Although that looong, slooow scene with the champagne, between Vaughn and Syd, could have been made a lot shorter. Or cut altogether. Then we could have had more of Sark in that dinner jacket, which I for one did not get enough of.) But I agree, it felt a bit slow. I enjoyed it, but I think I want more stuff. And more Sark.
And speaking of which, am I just supposed to accept that Sark is working for the Covenant now? Are they that stupid? Trusting a guy they've just stolen 800 million from? I'm going to need some missing scenes, and possibly a major retcon, before I swallow this.
Well, I guess I had more to say than I thought. And with that, good night.

Because even Sark in evening dress and Sloane twitting the Trio of Yearning Looks couldn't quite redeem this episode for me. It dragged. Enough with the Sydney icing Lazeray footage, the shock value is gone, it's getting old. I feel like the show is treading water.

I don't lust after him though. That's a different category of cute entirely...

I'm glad to see some folks are liking Lauren. When it was revealed that she brokered Sloane's pardon, I was like sheesh, give the poor woman a chance, JJ.
And I agree on the pacing. They need a new editor or something.

And how freaky was that moment? You could see the expression flit across VG's face for just a second. Honestly, I think Jack would kill Dixon if he thought it was necessary. And Mrs. Vaughn? Jack would break her neck in an instant.. and probably go out for coffee afterwards.
Also, I'm completely onboard with the Sark/Covenant confusion. Unless... Well maybe Sark is now running the Covenant?
