I'm sighing with love for both of these and also bristling--well, okay, not bristling, but maybe feeling a little defensive--about this notion that the second isn't somehow in character. I think you're right: Jack and Irina couldn't work together for too long without showing a bit of human nature, could they? And what better way to mark Sydney's return and Jack's freedom? Not to mention how completely characteristic Irina's entrance is, and her first words to Jack.
