The Russians stabbed us in the back...

Now, I take alien invasion narratives--the ones where aliens have been abducting people since Roswell and all those UFO sightings are real--with a grain of salt. They make good story, like in the X-Files. And since it's a story, one expects a certain number of historical facts to be bent out of shape.
Apparently, though, I have my limits. After "24" ended I switched over to "Taken" (or "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken" as the SciFi channel announcer insists) and caught a scene between the formerly Nazi scientist and the army guy. Army guy suggests that Nazi scientist's bad attitude is symptomatic of what lost the Germans the war. Nazi scientist retorts that "We lost the war because the Germans stabbed us in the back."
Edited to add: that should be, "because the Russians stabbed us in the back." I am an unbelievable idiot.
Hunh? Hitler-Stalin pact, anyone? Broken by... could it be Hitler? Who invaded the USSR and did his best to conquer the country?
Please let this be a sign that the character is delusional, not that the writers are morons. Although the innocently knowing child-voiceover technique is persuading me of the latter.
And on to more important things...
Nina sure does like to live dangerously, doesn't she? I confess that I fear she is not long for this world. At least Jack hasn't requested a hacksaw yet.
And I did rather enjoy Reza's decision to implicate his father-in-law-to-be. And kickboxing Miguel! Who would have guessed that Kim would attract a young man with a skill?
I was going to add some writing-related thoughts, but can't quite make them coherent yet.
