1. Katya Derevko. Even in the year he thought Irina dead, he knew that Katya would never fill that void, and wasn't willing to let her try; after all, she wasn't Irina, but she was still a Derevko.
2. Emily Sloane. He found out about Sloane's affair with Laura a few years after she "died"; Arvin never realized it, he thinks, but then again one can never be sure with Arvin. He considered seducing Emily, just to prove that he could take from Arvin what Arvin had taken from him. Then he thought about Emily, and how she laughed to cover her loss, and thought hat if he let herself get close to her there would be no going back.
3. Nadia Santos. He thought about her a great deal, when they first met: Irina's daughter, like and unlike. Like and unlike his own daughter, as well. It might have happened, if he'd allowed himself; but then, when he catches himself thinking that, he also thinks that he's twice her age and more, that there are younger, better men than him.
He finds it ironic that women associated with Arvin Sloane are the ones who remind him that there are things he will not do; in both cases, the regret hits him hardest after they're dead.
4. Julian Sark. He doesn't care for men as young as Sark, and then again, they would both be fucking Irina Derevko's ghost. He can do that well enough on his own.
5. Marcus Dixon. He looked out for Dixon, after his wife was killed, and there were a few late nights, Dixon drinking scotch and Jack mineral water, when he thought that if he'd been drunk he might have tried something, or Dixon might have. But he valued Dixon too highly as Sydney's friend -- something she needed -- to interpose himself into that relationship.
