1. Methos came to her after he left the Horsemen, and she helped him hide, and when Kronos came looking she claimed he was dead. He paid back the favor again and again over the centuries, hiding her in turn, protecting her and her people. He told her one night that he thought it easier, in their life, to be a woman than a man. She laughed in his face. Later, she considered what warfare did to him, the look on in his eyes coming back from a battle, and never again allowed him to lead men for her.
2. She loves the joke in Amanda's name, because she cannot help loving her, as well. It's true that Rebecca saved her and trained her, but Amanda saved Rebecca, as well, returning pure joy to her life when all she could see was death and sorrow in a fallen world. She doesn't like the fact that Amanda's a thief, but she sees it as a sign of the depth of Amanda's love for the material world and all its objects.
3. Even thousands of years later, some nights she still lies n her bed and thinks of David on the hills outside Jerusalem, in the early days of his kingship. She's had many men, lovers and husbands, and many women, but he stays in her mind.
