Oh, yes -- this is what I mean. Lucien doesn't quite understand why Nicholas feels that he should have control over his own life and his own decisions, and Nicholas, I think, also doesn't quite understand how deeply-rooted Lucien's need to control him is.
Also, we don't get the Roman origin of Lucien until somewhat into the show, so one wonders how early on the writers conceived of him as Roman.
True enough -- but isn't one of the pleasures of fandom the ability to suggest an order even when none exists in the show itself?
