It didn't bother me, not really. I knew from fandom chatter that a lot of things they would be doing with Sara's character were not what my own perceptions would have been. At the same time, a lot of what I was writing was either a) easily slotted into canon or b) a departure from canon. Most of what I wasn't including was simply backstory that we hadn't learned about yet.
