Of course, I have no idea what hour it is, but 24 spoilers are right this way:
I haven't been 100% there for 24 this season--too much of it has seemed like a retread of the last seasons. You know, we have Nina Mark II (or Gael II), a love interest who (I think) has dead meat tattooed on her forehead, troublesome children, and a new terrorist family.
All it does is make me remember why I liked Nina and the Drazens so much.
Tonight was good, though, and I must admit that I squealed "Tony!!!!" out loud when he appeared! Yay! Tony!!!!
I find that Edgar (is that his name? the computer guy) is growing on me, although I still hope that Chloe will be brought back ot save the day. Driscoll gets respect for being one tough bitch and not wanting sympathy. Behruz (and I know I've misspelled that) gets respect for jumping into the car to save his mother's life--he becomes less of a waste of space with every passing hour.
Paul (the Husband) is still a waste of space, and also a pig. Shut up with the "my wife" stuff--the lady's trying to dump you, and you don't own her. Sneaking behind her back to her dad is so unclassy, and your mid-Atlantic accent annoys me.
Basically, I still require persuasion that this will be a good season, although the return of Tony is a major plus. But the terrorists-and-mole thing is just too much same-old-same-old. And I know that I said that about Gael last season, and that plotline turned out OK, but... you know what it is? I still don't really trust this show to write a black woman; sure, I adored Sherry Palmer, but that may have been more to do with the excellent performance than with the writing. I don't think I was supposed to love her so much, at least not at first--her character developed quite a bit, in season 2 in particular. Still, the distrust lingers.
Perhaps I need to redo my Nina icon to read "accept no substitutes."
