book advice
May. 2nd, 2007 10:21 pmI was in a used bookstore the other day and discovered that they had two books by Bujold, one of those authors I keep meaning to read because so many other people like that Vorkosigan series. And I was very pleased, because these books don't turn up used very often, in my experience, so I went ahead and bought them both. One was the Warrior's Apprentice and the other was A Civil Campign.
So this is my problem: the first of these is one of the first books in the series, and the other is one of the latest. I'm about halfway through The Warrior's Apprentice and like it very much -- what will happen if I reach the end of it, and pick up A Civil Campaign? Will I be completely confused? Will I be horribly spoiled for really cool plot things in earlier books? Am I going to have to go home and shell out for new copies of some of the other books? Or will it all be OK, really?
Help me, friends list! help me!
