Jul. 8th, 2006 12:37 pmHow is it that I am the only person on livejournal to list Publius Clodius Pulcher as an interest? Incest and cross-dressing, people! You're letting me down here!

We say the Pirates movie last night. It was very... busy. I mean, it had a lot of stuff crammed into it, and yet it was oddly insubstantial. In a wholly enjoyable way, of course, although I have yet to warm to Keira Knightly, and think that she's just going to end up on the list of actresses I just don't see the point of. But it had lots and lots of Johnny Depp swishing around, and plenty of running about and sword-fighting, so everything balanced out.

I've now seen all of "Life on Mars," which was thoroughly excellent. BH has started to request fic about Gene Hunt, though, and I have no plot bunnies and no desire for any. My fic-writing plate is full. But I do find this amusing as evidence of how much BH's attitude to my fanfic habit has changed -- at first he found it strange and off-putting, especially the whole notion of slash; then he started to see the slash here and there, and became more willing to discuss fanfic with me. And now here he is making fic requests! Which he'll never read, except that he's the obvious beta-reader and brit-picker, considering the extent to which certain things about Sam Tyler resonate with him. Luckily, he has yet to be hit by a car and transported back to 1973.

With both the World Cup and Dr. Who coming to an end this weekend, I don't know what we'll do with ourselves, as far as the TV goes.
