(no subject)

We had a good day in London, yesterday (really, at the British Museum, but we ended up walking there from Baker St., for some reason or other, zig-zagging along the side streets) -- W1 was looking its best, in the mid-day sunshine, although it got very humid later on. There were an irritating number of rooms closed at the museum, but most of what I wanted to see was available upstairs. I took a few pictures to use as slides for teaching, although I think most of what I want is more easily available on Compass, like this portrait bust of Tiberius (there was supposed to be a link there, but it didn't work, presumably because the museum people are sensitive about copyright). Ok, I probably won't need that for teaching, but I might like to use as an icon for thoughts on the Tiberius Solves Crimes! story.

I did start jotting down some thoughts about that -- it's a new experience for me to be able to discuss a story with the BH, since he doesn't really want to know about fanfic. But now I know who dunnit and have the opening written and a few further scenes sketched out.


I might start keeping track on what writing I do on what, this summer, just to make sure I don't ignore anything that actually needs to be done. I'm also so unspeakable jealous to be missing the new season of BSG and both Stargates (there's so much good fic for both SG-1 and SGA that I might as well start watching the shows, plus the addition of what we might still be referring to as casting spoilers) that I might go ahead and buy a copy of the new Harry Potter just to be up-to-date on something.
