We're back from the festive indulgence (which is so indulgent that even other Britons quail at the thought), having drunk most of a case of very good wine and eaten a 16 pound turkey, along with all the other stuff that goes with it. Only three vegetables this year (not counting the potatoes) but it was made up for by the extra puddings. I don't think we ate for the first 24 hours after we got back home to Oxford.
I bought the B.H. a Lord of the Rings version of Risk, and we spent yesterday playing a few rounds of that. And the day before we went to see House of Flying Daggers which I thought was a bit dull--lovely set pieces but very little emotion, and it seemed like the story had been cut fairly drastically.
It's shocking to realize that I'm leaving in only a few days, and still haven't done most of the work I brought with me. The first few weeks of next term are going to be a nightmare.
Aside from that, I have nothing to say for myself. We've been glued to the news like everyone else, I suppose.
