My parents arrive tomorrow for a two week visit. They like to know what it's like where I live, and I'm looking forward to seeing them. But, you know, goodbye to all my free time, not that there was much of it to begin with.

I'm still loving the Highlander reruns; Monday and Tuesday we got the Horseman eps, which I just adore. Methos and Kronos are in such obsessive, twisted love; or rather, Kronos' love for Methos is obsessive and twisted, and Methos is perfectly happy to take advantage of that. And I need an icon of Horseman Methos with the text "bad hair millennium" on it, because, well, bad hair has never looked so bad. No wonder he spent a couple thousand years destroying everything that moved.

The first time I saw the episodes, I agreed with Duncan at the end: that Methos had set the whole thing up, and had maneuvered Duncan, Kronos and Cassandra in order to get himself free of Kronos. Now I don't agree at all--now I think that Methos doesn't have anything like a plan, and certainly nothing like the plan Duncan thinks he has. He's not exactly a victim of circumstance, but he's working from moment to moment, responding to whatever is happening right then and there: his goal is simply to get to the next moment with as few losses as possible. It's fascinating to watch him close down in the course of "Comes a Horseman."

Also, the double quickening special effect is the cheesiest thing ever, in a show which is not exactly known for holding back on the cheese.

I was going to start talking about "favorite scenes," but it would take forever.
