Nov. 4th, 2003 04:40 pmIf I were a responsible person, I would do the academic equivalent of NaNoWriMo this month. I'd write my damned book. Or edit it, at least. If I worked on it every day I would have something to send out to publishers in a fairly reasonable amount of time. I could use the meetings in San Francisco to chat up editors.
::deep breath:: OK. It won't be 50,000 words. If I write between 500 and 1000 words a day (and given that this is really all about editing text, not writing new stuff, that should be a snap), the opening chapters would be done. They would be Off My Back. What a freakish thought.
Gonna do it. Wish me luck. I am constitutionally incapable of finishing a piece of academic prose.
