Three fannish comments:

1. Because of the fragmentation of the X-Files fandom, I'm a very sheltered person. I've never been exposed to large amounts of "fix-it" fic for something I didn't think needed fixing. So the amount of Syd/Vaughn happy reunion fic (or angsty illicit-sex reunion fic) is leaving me slightly bemused. Why bother? We have two whole years of backstory to fill, and they're worried about the Syd/Vaughn relationship?



2. Thank goodness. I am not completely allergic to Mulder/Krycek fic. I was getting worried, but I read some of Sleeps With Coyotes' Blood, Love and Rhetoric last night, and it's still great. So it's just badly characterized and badly written M/K that makes me want to poke my eyes out.



3. I was thinking of subscribing to Jane's Defense Weekly solely for fanfic research, which might be a bit sad. Luckily, the B.H. knows more about arms and armaments than anyone who isn't crazy and living in Idaho (or in the armed forces), so I don't have to. He did wonder why I wanted to know how to shoot down a helicopter, though.
