Give me two characters from two different fandoms with which I am familiar, and I will invent a relationship for them. And if I'm not familiar with them, I will make something up. Hell, I'll make something up anyway, so...

This meme has "me" all over it. Seriously.

The thing is that John Winchester hates New York: too dirty, too noisy, too hard to drive in. People walk too fast and talk too fast. He can barely walk down the street without bumping into someone, gets his business done as fast as he can: make a contact, lend a hand clearing a tenement of hauntings, trade for some information he knows won't be good for anything. He means to get the hell out, quick as he can, ends up somehow in a bar not too far from the tenement, nursing a drink and his bruised ribs. The bar's dark and old and he can sit in the back and not be bothered; he straightens up when the lights flicker once or twice, but nothing happens and soon enough he slouches down again.

He looks up when the door opens. Guy comes in looking about the way John feels, and settles down slowly on a stool. He orders in a low voice, funny accent, raises his glass to John. "Another day, still standing," he says, and drains his that.

"I hear you," John says, and does the same.

Excellent.
