It's a beautiful warm day here, if by warm we mean 53 degrees. I have the window open and am making a vast pot of chili; I haven't made chili in at least a year, I suspect, so I'm looking forward to tonight's dinner. My chili is excellent.

Yum. It must be a cook-comfort-food-in-vast-stockpot kind of day, for I've just returned with the ingredients for a batch of beef stew. The weather here is odd, however: it's technically warm, but an England/SF style of gloomy, mired in fog.

I spoke to an old friend today -- apparently it was colder in LA than it was in Halifax! How neat is that. Sadly, I fear that was it for spring for us, at least for thext little while, and the (usually mistaken) prediction for the end of the week is cold and snowy.

I'm loving the smell of the chili as I sit here. Enjoy your stew.

53 degrees is definitely warm! It's in the low 30's here right now and snowing. The idea of a pot of chili and an open window sounds absolutely wonderful.
