Sorry to be all posty but I went off to give my lecture and came back to a result: A draw! Huzzah!

England have won the Ashes!

(And I realize that it's a little silly to be on edge about a draw but considering the way the rest of the series has gone, it still seemed very high stress.)

Yes, I suppose Australia couldn't stay "best in the world" forever. Never mind, there's plenty of time for them to get a bit of practice in before the next one. ;->

And it's hardly silly to be on edge - did you see how big the celebrations in London were? *Clearly* it's a big deal.

It's a little weird, actually. I mean, we're so used to being the underdogs - in most things. It's not usual to see the Australians as the giants toppling.
