the fannish version
a. I have finally caved in and made a tumblr: Vanzetti was Here. No idea what I'm doing, but if you have one and leave your name I will follow your tumblr too. I think it will mostly have to do with ASOIAF, since that's where a lot of stuff in that fandom seems to be going on. But I might also post things relevant to ancient history there too.
Although since I am weird about looking at picspams, it may also be the case that tumblr and I are not going to be good friends in the long run.
b. I realize that hardly anyone else cares, but I am SO EXCITED that they brought back the dance-off on Strictly this year. I did in fact pump the air when I heard that.
c. I enjoyed the first part of the Dr. Who season very much. This is one of those shows where I can either enjoy it, or be engaged about it on line, and I would rather enjoy it. (The West Wing was the same for me.) I'm also watching Merlin, although I never quite managed to attach emotionally to it. But you will all be amused: my husband commented that they had a Lancelot-shaped hole in the story now, and I pointed out that really, since Merlin is young in this one, they can use him for the love triangle if they want that part of the story.
Him: "You mean, with Arthur, right?"
me: ::facepalm::
d. Still looking forward to Yuletide! May actually have enough time to do it this year, too.
e. Other than that, I'm really not writing, after a productive summer -- but when I get back to work writing, the fanfic will probably follow. They usually go together. (I wrote a long story at the end of the summer which is in fic-exchange limbo, but it will show up here eventually.)

c. Your husband knows the fannish mindset very well!
d. I look forward to reading it! Let me know if you need a beta.
e. I was writing for a bit, but I'm all tied up with dealing with my folks right now, and the momentum is gone. Maybe in a month or so…

As for Merlin, the show is just not very subtle about pushing the Arthur/Merlin relationship; I don't think it's just the fans, really. (Although back in S1 Merlin/Gwen seemed plausible and rather sweet to me.)

All the ASOIAF I ever wanted -- and I wanted a lot of meta! So, yay. \o/
